DEPLOYMENT

Choose the environment.
Keep the responsibilities clear.

Dataroom is deployable enterprise software, with an isolated customer-controlled or dedicated data plane.

01 /

Customer-controlled

Operate within your own cloud account. Your team controls infrastructure, identity, storage, encryption keys and operational access.

02 /

Dedicated environment

Use an isolated environment dedicated to your organisation. Hosting and support responsibilities are defined in the agreed scope.

One customer data plane.
An explicit delivery boundary.

Customer document content and standing credentials do not enter a shared Octopus control plane by default.

DEPLOYMENT PROFILES

Match the profile
to your operational needs.

01

Standard

A single application node is permitted. Customer-controlled storage, identity, backup and installation acceptance still apply.

Planned and single-node failure downtime are explicit trade-offs.
02

High availability

Adds multiple application replicas, shared state, database HA and observed failover to the Standard profile.

Availability claims depend on evidence from the exact installation.
03

Disaster recovery

Requires the High availability profile, then adds a recovery strategy across a secondary region or account, including recovery and failback exercises.

Recovery targets and cross-region data flows must be agreed and tested.

Managed services are a separate scope.

Hosting, on-call operations, mail relay and managed recovery are not automatically included in a software deployment. The service scope and responsibilities must be agreed and accepted separately.

Deployment questions

Is this a shared multi-tenant SaaS?

Not by default. The normal delivery is isolated software in a customer-controlled or dedicated environment.

Does Octopus need ongoing access?

No standing access is required by default. Optional support access is approved and controlled by the customer.

Are SSO, AI or connectors always included?

No. Optional capabilities require explicit configuration and acceptance for the installation that enables them.

Can we use the public reference environment for deal documents?

The reference environment is for internal testing and demonstration. Confidential customer material belongs only in an accepted customer installation.
